Play Better Pétanque
I started playing petanque some twenty-five years ago and after flagging it away due to injury, we did go back to club play. I had to overcome the injury and spent some time working out how to replay the game I had loved for so long.
What I discovered was that I had been playing the game in a style that did not suit my age and physique. How ever I quickly developed a style that suited my play, and I even discovered a new way of playing that involved a different style of pointing. And it included a different style of shooting and even a different way of aiming.
This book is not for the Dylan Rocher's of the game or the likes of Phillippe Quintais. This book is modestly aimed at making you a better club player and becoming a better regional player. Yes, we have won a few tournaments at a regional level, so it does work, and it works well.
Try it. The only thing you have to lose is being called an average club player!

Realtor Secrets
Having spent some twenty years being a Realtor and mentoring Realtors I find myself partly siding with the Realtors about what a good customer is. So here is a book that tells all about both sides of the story. Well. Make that three sides! From the side of the Buyer, the Seller and the Realtor. It's a fascinating book and it also gives you a few tips to work with when you get down to the negotiation.
Definitely great value!
A girl's Guide to self defense
Why write a book on a girls guide to self-defense? Primarily because I'm a guy and it tees me off to read about guys attacking girls usually for sex but just as often it's about dominance as males are supposed to be the stronger sex.
It has often passed through my mind that yes, men are the stronger sex, but strength counts for nothing if the assailant is up against a smarter opponent that can turn the tables around very quickly.
This is where the book comes in. it should be a great example for girls to realize that the assailant is often a physically weaker and he relies on you panicking and going into pleading mode when you are attacked.
It's a good book for the 'defenseless' female and should be practiced with a friend so you feel you are less vulnerable if a dodgy situation happens
Play the Piano by Ear.
Every year, I challenge myself to learn something new. A couple of years ago, I made the decision to take up the piano, as I was already proficient in playing the guitar. At that time, I thought to myself, "How hard could it be?" Little did I know the intricacies and complexities that awaited me. As I embarked on this musical journey, I quickly realized that the piano is a whole different beast. The coordination required between both hands, the precise positioning of fingers on the keys, and the ability to read sheet music all proved to be daunting tasks. Nevertheless, I persevered, dedicating hours of practice each day. Slowly but surely, I began to grasp the fundamentals and witness progress. Learning the piano has been a humbling experience, teaching me patience and determination. However, through it all I did manage to achieve my goals and it also made me learn skills that helped my guitar playing.
A year of meditations
A year of meditations came about when I was trying to describe the benefits of meditation to a friend. It can be quite difficult to describe the feeling of inner peace that comes from going inside yourself with a single thought and see where the thought takes you.
The Book includes a few tips on getting yourself into the right mood for meditating. If nothing else, I always come out of a session with clearer ideas and often I will come up with ideas. Maybe for a new book. Maybe how to deal with something that is troubling me in life.
Meditating may not be the be all and end all, but it certainly gives you the inner peace to go forward in life.
