Born in Manchester in the United Kingdom. I was fortunate to meet Jane Dawson in 1973. It was on the 20th December 1973 in a pub. Jane was living in New Zealand and had visited the UK to visit with her aunt and Uncle and to live in the UK for a year or so.

Eventually I had the brains to marry her in 1975 and we settled down to see what life would bring us

In 1977 we moved to New Zealand to try it for a couple of years. We had our first child in the UK and our second child was born in New Zealand. Things must have worked out for us in New Zealand as we are still here, some forty odd years after moving out here.

Our kids enjoyed life in New Zealand and it's a place I would strongly recommend for any parent looking to bring up a child. Maybe it's just me but New Zealand is catching up with the world in terms of being politically correct and looking out for the underdogs of society, but it is still a great place to bring kids up!

This, quite probably, is my favorite picture of my wife, Jane, and I playing the sport we are both involved in, Pétanque.

It's a French sport that we learned to play in Noumea when I won a trip out there. When I got back to Rotorua there was a guy advertising about bringing the sport to Rotorua and the rest, as they say, is history.

We were stalwarts of the club in Rotorua for perhaps ten or 12 years before retiring due to an injury. We moved down to near Wanganui and joined their local club.

Me. being me, I worked out an easier way of playing and we have won a few regional tournaments over the last few years.

Pétanque is a gentler way of playing Boche and designed for older people. I should say it has rapidly evolved as the favored game for many afficionados as the years have developed.

Now we get to the Biographical bit.

I have amassed quite a bit of experience over the years and if I just put it down it will be easier and sound a bit less obvious.

Biker, Bible class teacher, well known author, motivational speaker, trainer, Realtor. I once led a Haka when I represented New Zealand, Bassist in a group back in Manchester, singer and songwriter, Guitarist and Piano player. Soccer player, and very much the expert on any armchair related sports activity.

That seems to be the major achievements. Also, I am a Spiritual seeker. Maybe I had an odd childhood, but it did lead me to question where I was going or being led. I did discover that what is right for me will only be shown to me when it is right for it to be shown to me. Having said that I have dabbled in Spiritual healing, I have been a mentor to a number of people across a wide range of fields and I remain happily married to the same woman, My closest friend, Jane, for nearly fifty years.

That being said, I am happy with how my life has turned out and maybe there is a few more books I have to turn out of the confused mess that is my brain.

I certainly hope so!
